I joined Tributes in 2022 as Financial Controller, responsible for all aspects of our accounts and financial operations. My job has quite a bit of variety to it, from management accounts to VAT returns so no two days tend to be the same. With a new back office system to learn I’m looking forward to developing our financial reporting, and acting as a superuser so I can help other members of the team with any issues. It’ great to feel like I’m adding value to customers, staff and the wider business environment, and am always looking to improve on how we work – one of my key passions is reviewing processes and understanding how technology can boost efficiencies.
I found my way into finance after graduating in Maths in 2014 and joining a graduate scheme as a Trainee Chartered Accountant, specialising in audit in an accountancy practice in Bath. I relocated closer to home in 2017 and finished my Chartered Accountancy qualification the following year. After spending six years in audit, I decided to move into industry and have spent the past couple of years working for an International Luxury Lighting distributor in a similar role.
Petributes is a very special place to work and that’s down to the people and culture. The staff work so well together and everyone cares about what we do and the customers we’re looking after.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also love playing or watching sports – my favourites are football, darts, pool, snooker and tennis. I’m also a keen runner and have taken part in the Great South Run and a couple of half marathons. Keep a lookout for the crowds at sporting events, I’ve been caught on TV quite a few times!
