Supporting professionals offering end of life care to pet families
Dealing with the loss of a pet is hard for everyone involved.
At an extremely emotional time for the family it can be hard for pet care professionals to introduce after-life services.
Helping a family at the end of their pet’s life is one of the most difficult jobs vets face. We want to support vets and their clients having these hard but necessary conversations.
To make the end of life process easier and more manageable for vets, we have created a small leaflet which helps the family by signposting them to information about end of life and after-life care and processes, locating a pet crematorium or cemetery and more.
Our website offers features that can help families make well informed choices about how they would like their pet to be cared for at the end of their life. It can be hard to have these conversations at the time of a pet’s death and can take a bit of time for the family to come to terms. Having time to prepare and think about their options instead of feeling rushed can help.
You can download the leaflet HERE. If you require a print version for professional printers please contact us.
Enhancing end-of-life care with the Amae Bag
All pets, big or small, deserve to be treated with care and respect in death as well as life. The Amae bag is a crematable bag designed to provide comfort to families and enable the dignified handling of a pet’s body. It allows vets and pet crematoria to offer an enhanced and caring after-life service.
Born from a desire to promote the respectful treatment of every animal after death the Amae bag’s soft lines and oval shape echo those of a pet bed and provide a gentle resting place for a much loved pet that moves away from the more clinical feel of many current transportation bags. Families can sometimes worry about how pets are treated after death but the Amae bag provides reassurance to families that their pet will be cared for in a conscientious and sensitive manner at all times.
The Amae bag was developed alongside vets to make sure it has all the features needed to be suitable for transportation and cremation. Both practical and ergonomic it has an absorbent base lining and is leak resistant. Pleated covers expand to the body shape inside and the external writeable label and transparent viewing panel allow for easy identification. The larger sizes have a supportive webbing cradle and handles for ease of carrying.
Vets can purchase Amae Bags through their pet cremation services supplier.
